18 February 2013
I've decided to start a blog on our new home - the Havana 3, by McDonald Jones at Bingara Gorge. It all started back on Monday 18 February (2 days after my birthday). For the last two months we had been looking at land and it all came down to a block at Bingara Gorge, Wilton and another at Manooka Valley, Currans Hill. The Manooka Valley land was slightly bigger, being 640sqm, however Bingara Gorge stole our hearts with its peaceful location, beautiful surroundings, secure and community feel. So I went out to place my deposit on the lot we were looking at only to be told, that someone else had bought it earlier that morning! I was heart broken! Especially since there were not many lots left in this precinct.
The sales lady informed us that a new lot had become available after someone else's finance fell through. The lot was identical to the the one we were initially going to buy. It had the same dimensions (16m wide X 35m long) and was only a street back. I had to make the decision today, in order to get that block. My partner was at work and after phoning her several times and only getting her voice message, I decided to go ahead and place a deposit on the land. I paid my $1000 and went home a very excited and slightly nervous girl!.
